Something for Everyone

West Town is an umbrella community area that contains several neighborhoods. Residents of West Town might live in Ukranian Village, Wicker Park, East Village, Noble Square, Polish Downtown, Pulaski Park, or Smith Park. Eckhart Park and Smith Park are among the largest parks in the area and include fields, pools, playgrounds, and a community garden. The western boundary of West Town is the sprawling Humboldt Park with sports fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, plus a beach. Green spaces in West Town are community gathering spots, with concerts, plays, movies, and festivals filling the calendar. Some favorites include Do Division Street Fest, West Fest, Renegade Craft Fair, and the West Town Art Walk. Boutiques abound along Chicago, Ashland, Grand, and Damen. Ukrainian Village is a lively part of West Town, with bars and live music. The West Loop's famed Restaurant Row on Randolph is just southeast of West Town. For folks wanting an urban feel, West Town features amenities like art galleries, live music, independent book stores, shopping, and plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafés. Other
cultural outings in West Town include the Ukrainian National Museum, The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, and the Polish Museum of America. The Green and Pink Lines stop at Ashland. While there aren't as many CTA L stops in West Town, it's an incredibly pedestrian and bike-friendly area with many bus options as well.
