Named for the goats that wandered the streets more than a century ago, today Bucktown is a trendy triangle of land in Chicago's West Town area. Historic lowrise buildings, converted lofts, brownstones, bungalows, condominiums, and recent builds of larger single-family homes bring a diversity of options to homebuyers. All along Damen Avenue, boutiques, shops, fitness studios, bars, and eateries abound. These aren't Bucktown's only offerings, as stretches of other retail and dining options radiate off the Six Corners intersection. Bucktown has a reputation for being an arts hub in the city, with independent bookstores and galleries now sharing space with upscale and designer retailers. Eminently walkable, Bucktown also has quick access to 90/94 and the Blue Line and bus routes to conveniently get around town or out to O'Hare.
